Getting support

Soundsoft support will answer all your questions regarding Soundsoft utilities within 48 hours during regular business hours by e-mail. Please send your e-mail to support@soundsoft.com. Requests should be done in English and replies will be sent in English only.

Installation Troubleshooting

  1. If Megamix performs that it cannot connect to database, check if you have downloaded and installed SQLExpress and other recommended Microsoft software.
    If you have Windows XP and you already have installed some of the below programs you do not need to install them again.

    1.Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable (v2)
    2.Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package
    3.Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
    4.DirectX 8.0 Redistributable
     

  2. If you have installed SQLExpress and you still have problem connecting to Database, open the Megamix Control Panel, choose the SQL page, click on Attach/Detach SQL Database, click Connect and after connecting try Detach Database and again Attach until you see the message: Successful Attach. Then run Megamix.

I have tried your product and I would like to buy it. What should I do?

You should subscribe for as long as you wish and you will receive free of charge the products that you would like to subscribe for. The easiest way to do this is with SOUNDSOFT ACCOUNT MANAGER. If you already have created a DEMO account just click 'Transform of account from demo into normal', ordering at the same time the subscriptions that you wish.

I have no internet connection. How can I use your product?

Unfortunately in order to use our product you should have at least a dial-up connection in order to be able to complete the activation of the program and also once a month to update your keys.

I had run the program and I am asked to fill in the key file.

After receiving your SOUNDSOFT ACTIVATION CART by e-mail, you must activate your account. To complete this operation you need to have connection to the internet. In order to activate your account from the Soundsoft Control Panel please choose the ‘Activate and create a new KEY file for this terminal’ option. Fill in your Customer ID, Password and Serial Number for activating your work station terminal. Then activate all the other terminals the same way. Now you are able to open Megamix.  Go to the STATIONS icon and activate your on-air module as well (if any).

How does the Soundsoft keys' system function?

Each Soundsoft application needs to have its valid key file in order to function on a terminal. For each computer a unique characteristic ID is created. This unique computer ID with other elements of your activating account is sent to the central server of Soundsoft and they are registered there the hour you make the activation. This file is valid only for a small time interval (usually 20-30 days). After this short time period, in 5 days the central server of Soundsoft must be informed about a new period of operation. This is done automatically with the Soundsoft automatic updater. Soundsoft always considers a program active according to the last activation for that serial number. If there are also other computers that have been activated with the same serial number then these cannot be informed, with result that after a short period of time it becomes impossible to operate the program on these terminals. You are allowed to make the maximum of 10 activations per year for each serial number (on the same or on different terminal for example change of appliance, reinstallation of operating system etc..) With the beginning of new calendar year you have again 10 activations and so on.

As you can see the key system is designed so that it will not create problems during the installation of the program or in any hardware changes or reinstallation of the operating system. The only thing that is needed from you is to have an active subscription.
